Mission Statement:
In a person's life there co0mes a time when he or she needs three things wgicg we are dedicated to, and these are 1) AN OPEN FORUM for positive ideas to help inspire and to uplift them to achieving things that they might never have dreamed of , 2) Presenting a positive platform for that achievement, and 3) teaching and training in ways that are going to help them achieve what they seek.
The Marathon Enquirer shall henceforth be a negativity free zone. We will have a classified section at the end of every weekly blog, and we will not sponsor negative classifieds, but will engage in ad sharing with other bloggers. There is no desire to promote anything that is a detriment to humanity. We will not teach or promote hate.
We will stand firmly against things that are detrimental to the quality of life, or sponsor violence or intolerance, and we will never sponsor anything that arbitrarily ends any human life. If we are not about making life better, then we are about nothing that is relevant to our cause, and therefore deserve to end abruptly.
A Mindful Presence:
Mindfulness is something that goes back several millenia in every known religious philosophy on the face of the Earth . It is older than any known religion. The teachings are the same though they go by different names in each tradition. I'm going to call them what I call them, and if your names vary, feel free to substitute.
The first trick of being mindful is to be observant, and not pass judgement on what you have observed. You don't even need to put words to it. Just observe it and let it go. That is a basis of meditation.
Just look squarely at something, and let your mind wander, and as aa thought comes up, just observe it, and let it go.
When you label it, you have judged the experience, and when you judge the experience, you declare a crisis, whether it is bad or good, so just let it go. We called this duck feathers, because you are letting your thoughts about whatever your your mind throws your way just roll off your back.
Now; translate that to the real world experience. When somebody says or does something to you that you would rather that they had not, it would seem normal to pass judgement on the act, and label it, or them for doing it. If you can do that without passing judgement on them or labelling the act, or even taking it further, you are going to find that your life becomes more and more peaceful as you move along the path of it.
Can you see what I am hinting at here? 90 plus percent of the world's social problems have begun with just the act above. Someone does something, and another interprets it ( perhaps incorrectly) and the next thing that you know, war is declared.
Are you absolutely sure that your interpretation is correct? Is there any doubt at all, or did you interpret another person's actions by your understanding?
When you look at the big picture, the concept really is very simple. Your Homework assignment , should you choose to accept it is to daily prepare an honest count of every time that you pass judgement on something, and observe the trend.
You may say," Oh I'm not judgemental", but when you get the count in front of you it is am real eye opener. Then as you keep track, you will find the judgemental incidents going downward in number, over a relatively short time span.
Just observe, and if a thought comes along that you don't want, simply observe it , and give it nothing more, and that thought will never take root in your mind.

This word has been tossed around so very much that is seems to have lost all meaning. In that case we need to have an understanding for ourselves of what it is going to take to feel successful. My thinking turned to the question," What is it going to take for me to feel successful on a daily basis?" Now that is "a horse of another color". You have to reach that point every day to feel successful. So I began searching for definition.
It became necessary to determine for myself what it would take for me to feel successful each and every day of my life. It took a very big bit of introspection, and finally I determined that I would feel successful in the day if I was one step closer to my goals at the end of the day than I was at the beginning of it. I included in that definition, my grandfather's old saying that I never understood until I was over forty. That saying was," IF YOU LEARN SOMETHING POSITIVE IN A DAY, THEN THE DAY WAS NOT WASTED". So, officially if I learned something during the day that moved me one step closer to my goals, then I had been on the receiving end of a successful day.
You might say that is not an end, but a lifelong process. That is true, but the word we all toss around so very much is a lifelong process as well. He had a life well lived because he made himself feel successful every day of his life. If you want to put something like this into place in your life, you will find that you will gain a progressive amount of happiness as you go because you will progressively feel better about yourself. So if you make every day successful, in time your life will become successful, and you will not need people to tell you about it because in your heart and soul , you will know.
